There can't be many areas left in the GTA that aren't seeing some kind of highrise proposals these days.

Steeles and Dufferin, an area ripe for densification. Horrendous traffic though.

Bus Rapid Transit will be there before this project is even approved.

Minutes from the July 2020 TTC Board meeting (link):

Commissioner Bradford moved the following motion:

That the TTC Board:

  1. Request the Chief Executive Officer to report back on the operating cost impacts of service reliability delays by route for all five bus priority corridors for the Board's September 24, 2020 meeting.
  2. Request the Chief Executive Officer to work in partnership with the General Manager, Transportation Services, City of Toronto to accelerate transit priority measures on all five bus priority corridors and integrate this direction into the Surface Transit Network Implementation Study (STNIS).
  3. Request the Chief Executive Officer to continue acceleration of transit priority measures on the four remaining transit priority corridors (Jane, Steeles West, Finch East and Dufferin) and target installation for Priority B and Priority C corridors in 2021 with a report back on status in Q4-2020.
C. Finnerty conducted a recorded vote on the motion by Commissioner Bradford.

In favour: Vice-Chair De Laurentiis, Commissioners Bradford, Carroll, Heisey, Lalonde, McKelvie, Minnan-Wong, Osborne.

The motion by Commissioner Bradford carried on a unanimous vote.

And here is the staff report with details (link). Game changer for this corridor.

The traffic here is mainly Dufferin heading into Vaughan and vice versa. The TTC won't help much.

This might be off the topic. But this development has a nice solid look to it . With the punctured windows supported by a decent amount of cladding around it etc. Love to see more of these types of buildings in the downtown core ! To balance off with the large amount of all glass facades skyscrapers !

Agreed, it's a nice change of pace. Reminds me of Tridel's concrete look.

New renderings are updated in the database! Changes are made to the following height, storey count, unit count and parking spaces. The storey count went from 39, 38, 10 to 37, 31, 12 storeys. The overall height went from 126.50m, 120.50m to 121.75m, 103.75m & 47.10m. The total unit count increased from 814 to 866. Finally, the parking count increased from 637 to 858.

A new architect firm has been assigned to this project - now it's BDP Quadrangle, previously Kirkor Architects and Planners.

The renderings are taken from the architectural plans via Rezoning Application:
