The bustling Yonge-Dundas neighborhood, a hub of tourism and entertainment in the heart of Downtown Toronto will soon be home to a vibrant and inviting new Boston Pizza restaurant at the corner of Yonge St. and Gerrard St., thanks to an unprecedented design project with retractable roof specialist OpenAire. This location will feature Boston Pizza's new design direction and bring new life to a historic 1873 building, located at 401 Yonge Street, by turning its top two floors into a unique destination where visitors will enjoy great casual dining in an open, outdoor-style atmosphere any time of year. Crowning the new restaurant design is a huge double-sloped, telescoping retractable skylight from OpenAire.

I'm surprised at the investment in this location, since the other three corners either have actual or proposed high-rises. How long will this corner last as a low-rise?

I am sure it won't be that difficult to preserve the facade again.
Sure, but Boston Pizza seems to be spending a lot on a fancy retractable roofing system, when I would think that a proposal for a high-rise on this corner would be forthcoming in only a couple of years.

If they can assemble the land, that is. I am not sure if they had.

Was AoD being prophetic again?

Sherman Brown Dryer Karol has just registered to lobby on this one on behalf of 399Y Corporation...........

Whose parent company is Capital Developments.

At this point, the properties listed are 399 and 401.

Site size as described: ~1000m2/11000ft2

Not the most robust footprint; particularly if there's to be heritage preservation.

Seems to me any assembly here really needs 407 in the package.

I assume this is some kind of application to protect development interests here from the 415 yonge..

I missed this one, because it took them more than 30 days from the submitted date to put it up, and I normally only search apps from the last 30 days (gonna have to double check the AIC now to see if anything else snuck past me!)

* a quick glance only on my part, but I don't see any evidence of knock-out panels for future connections any PATH system in the area.
