I am really liking the way that this and Verve are differentiating the "sameness" of height that made St. Jamestown so bland and ugly.

They are starting to put up the "glass" on the balconies! I'm loving it!!!

First thou, a picture of the loft "along side" with Verve. I don't know if they are complementary of each other even thou individually it looks nice.

I like how it's looking!

I hope all the glass will be up in 2 weeks. I think it'll make the building look quite snazzy.

Better than Verve; worse than X; but still better than 70% of the DES highrises.

Well put, I'd agree.
I'm still not crazy with the brown-beige precast contrasted against the steel-grey panels/spandrels, I just don't think it's very successful. 500 won't turn any heads but it's safe, and it won't offend either. They painted the under sides of the balconies, so that always gets bonus points from me!

Ah, so the redevelopment of the old Wellesley Hospital site redevelopment draws to a close.

This patch of land has become perhaps the most mixed use new group of developments in the city.

With the collective projects' use of a variety of the most common building materials available, their range of heights and purposes of use, this refreshing of a very dingy area seems to be a good preview of what the East Donlands redevelopment will look like IMHO.

Mixed use? We got a long-term care facility, three condos/apartments, and a handful of vacant storefronts. Seems pretty tepid to me

Update... They started to install the glass where the main entrance is suppose to be. Sales office & "model suite" are both set up; thou I don't know when they are gonna "move in". I went to the website & the sales office addy is now 500 Sherbourne.

Hope you can see the glass installed on the upper half of the "lobby"

Thanks JayBee.

For those interested to know, the sales office will be open this weekend.

Saw Sophie (sales rep) in the office today doing the final touches for the set up.

The sales center (a one bedroom loft space) is open but the model suite won't be ready till this weekend.
The space looks great, nice size one bedroom overlooking the urban park.

I agree, I got a chance to look at the model suite...of course it wasn't finished but it's quite nice. 500 has great finishes.
