The facades look in reasonable condition. They haven't been partially covered with steel siding. It maybe dated but, I don't see that as a reason to "improve" it. It's not like they throw alot of money at it.

I think it looks dirty and run down. The concrete is crumbling in places, discoloured in others, and the clear windows let you see everyone's tablecloth and tinfoil windows. Why not modernize the whole structure to offer a cohesive development and be able to charge more for the illusion of living in a nicer, newer building? If I were a renter you would have to offer me a significant rent reduction to live in the old buildings vs. the new one they are constructing. I think they should set the bar higher on a lot of these rental buildings.

There's no money in extensive aesthetic changes. The new tower is in part to increase revenues and pay for the necessary upgrades. The best we can expect is a paint job and I question if it would be better than what currently exists. Maybe I lost faith with Starlight's rapidly growing portfolio anchored by ugly two toned paint jobs with one being beige.

Pretty typical inexpensive glass spandrel design coming for 561 Sherbrourne, which is in a spot where you wouldn't expect them to splurge on higher-quality exterior finishings:

The rendering looks squashed vertically to me, so I've stretched another copy of it to a point that looks more believable to me. I have no idea how close I am to correct with this though:

Yea the first image is too girthy. There is physically not enough space for a tower that chunky. The existing buildings are about 32 stories (give or take) each.

The tower is now 2+ levels above ground.

Tower looks like James Cooper Mansion...which isn't a bad thing for a rental building in the area. Curious to see what the retail will look like. Hope it's upgrade from what used to be there.
