I've been watching the demolition of the building from my window for a while now. Kind of cool to watch the claw slowly demolish that structure. I had always wondered what went on up there and at times speculated it was a no frills warehouse but found out later it was an abandoned fitness club, go figure. Few progress shots, quality is a bit low as I had to use my zoom.

Now if they could only get rid of 540 Sherbourne (across the street in that bottom pic)... that building and the owner = mess.

Far be it to disagree with someone whose screen name matches the very city of which I was born in Colorado, but I must. As a two-year resident of 540 Sherbourne, I have been extremely pleased with our building. The on-site superintendent has done an excellent job maintaining it and keeping things as orderly as is possible. I've seen, heard of and experienced FAR worse buildings in this city. 540 is not one of the bad ones. Trust me.

Cell phone drive by from this morning. Pardon the quality.

Not sure when they're getting going on the tower. The retail frontage along Sherbourne looked like this last week:

They've been working on the tower for a while now. They are currently rebuilding the parking levels directly below in order to provide a solid foundation. There is currently a massive hole along Sherbourne.

Thanks for the info T01 and sj2qw! I'll have to stop by sometime for a better look…
