I like it. Nice massing. I don't find it too much for the area. I do have misgivings about the narrow, windowless facades on either end... the bleak emptiness of it is a bit daunting.

Agreed, but just for right now. As of today it does dominate too much on the south side of King St W. Once we see what the Allied/Westbank proposed buildings look like a little further east, this may look much smaller in comparison and then fit in a bit better in the future.
 
A few residents will have a view of the Island Airport from their Thompson Residences units:
