Err, which retail spaces are empty?

I live in a building which backs on to Alex Park and out of 17 commercial units, 1 is actively trading. The stretch of Queen west of Spadina is probably close to 50% empty or not actively trading, with Popeyes most recently going out of business and the landlord seized goods to pay back rent. There are similarly empty units on Dundas.

^Though I respect your observations because of first-hand experience I wonder about the reason for vacancy such as unrealistic rent or impending redevelopment.

Taken 4 April. Coming along. And when I mentioned being curious as to whether retail might start popping up along Augusta south of Dundas it was in the townhouses on the west side that I had in mind. And of course a heated scone and drip coffee at the new OCAD Dark Horse!

When are the rest of those shabby 70's buildings along Dundas coming down?

The eastern sidewalk on Denison just south of Dundas has re-opened. I will try and get some pictures, but it looks great!

Taken 23 September. Augusta is closer to opening and another bougie business has opened on Dundas West!

I am eager to follow the developments of the remaining phases, but cannot find any information for the life of me. Do you know where I can look to keep up to date on the rest of the project?

There is quite a bit of information on this thread if you work backwards. One example would be this useful post from Cukilo which is two pages back… I don’t see evidence of phase 2B yet, and in the current market conditions I imagine that it is not imminent but that is amateur speculation.

Does anyone know when phase 2d and 2b will begin or complete? View attachment 531365
