Who's the anchor tenant on 2nd floor?

CBRE sales brochure to lease divisible 24,330 sq.ft. first floor retail space mentions "52,000 sq.ft. second floor has been leased to an anchor tenant".

Rendering shows a "Market" going into second floor,... yes, there's already Metro & Loblaws nearby,...

Rendering shows a "Market" going into second floor,... yes, there's already Metro & Loblaws nearby,...

Which is nonsense. Midtown needs a lower end grocery store, something more affordable. My wife and I travel weekly to go to No Frills, the savings are greater than the gas it costs, plus the markup of shopping at one of the chains within walking distance.

There is also a Whole Foods not too far from here on Bayview north of Eglinton, and 52,000 square feet seems too large for a McEwan. Longo's maybe? There's a new Sobey's going in eventually where the current one is down at 22 Balliol…

Which is nonsense. Midtown needs a lower end grocery store, something more affordable. My wife and I travel weekly to go to No Frills, the savings are greater than the gas it costs, plus the markup of shopping at one of the chains within walking distance.

Unfortunately I think it is just too expensive a neighbourhood to have a lower end grocery store.

I have honestly considered schlepping it on the bus to get to No Frills in Scarborough.

I used to go to Valu-Mart at Davisville & Bayview, but it can be too far if you don't have a car.

On the other hand, I'm sure you've been to the Fruit Basket at Yonge and Davisville, that place is dirt cheap, dirt cheap appearance, and popular as hell.

Yes I have. Now I go to Green Valley which is at Yonge and Erskine. And there is another one on Erskine just around the corner.

They are the exceptions. I dread the day their rent jumps up or the place gets turned into a condo.
