They were running at around 10:00am. I could hear it from the Rooster on King all the way over to George Brown.

The loud banging has been from the backhoes dropping the metal and concrete debris into the metal bins -- thunderous at times, but then yesterday afternoon it all suddenly stopped, and not one bit of work being done onsite since. There's not single worker down there this morning. A much quieter day in the 'hood with just the demolition at 53 Ontario happening http://urbantoronto.ca/forum/showthread.php/20968-53-Ontario-St-(development-site).

It is interesting that they are doing site preparation though their development application is still not approved. Last I heard it may be coming to TEYCC in April.
