I recall a few years ago hearing rumblings of a Convention Centre expansion.. I wonder what happened to that.

Note the address, this permit is actually attached to Metro Centre at King/John/Wellington.

I assume the description is erroneous but haven't done any digging.

I wonder if convention and trade show business has entirely bounced back yet, or if it's still lagging somewhat (probably), and to what degree?

Hard to tell. The number of events and attendance seems to have recovered but occupancy and revenue are both still down. I guess they're shorter events (afternoon only rather than a full day)?

Perhaps this may be part of the preparation for the long pending relocation of the Toronto Fire Department Fire Hall 332 on Adelaide Street to the south side of the Metro Hall building, fronting on Wellington Street.
