It's funny how little mall food courts have changed over the ages. I recently watched a Blu-Ray copy of Tarentino's "Jackie Brown". From 1995 (prob. shot in '94) and since it's in HD, everything is really clear... during the 15min. scene in the L.A. Mall food court you can really make out the peripheral details like the shops in the food court etc... (I wonder if it says something that I was more interested in those than the actual movie, LOL!)
But really, it looked like if someone went and shot a flick in the "new" Fairview Mall food court just yesterday. Other than people's clothing and hairstyles, lack of iPod headphones in anyone's ears, it looks like a food court from "today". Absolutely no architectural innovation IMO.
