Beauty Village Spa is gone, and the pit left over from the demolished building on Roehampton is being filled in.

So if my understanding of the site plan is correct, the taller tower will be built where they are currently demolishing the strip of retail buildings. When the TD unit is demo'd, most of that area will be plaza or amenities, so excavation for the taller tower can actually begin before the TD relocated and is demo'd. Can anyone confirm?

AFAIK, the connection to the subway and Yonge Eglinton Centre is through the TD site… plus I would be surprised if there weren't plans for a full site-wide excavation anyhow. If you ignore one corner, then you have to go deeper elsewhere to make up for the missed space, and deeper = more expensive.

I would expect that the next step would be the shoring, which could start shortly, all around the site except for the TD Bank building. By the time the rest of the shoring is done, there may not be too much of a delay waiting for the branch to be vacated and its demolition to take place, at which point the rest of the shoring could be completed. Given the size of the site, it may even be possible to start excavation in the northern and eastern areas, while waiting for the branch to close.

The Burger King building is gone:

Maybe it is the proximity, but I am extremely excited watching this one progress. Having been inside each of the buildings that have been demolished at one point or another in my life, I am surprised that I never noticed how large the site was.

It is a very prominent intersection and this building will define it, so I'm excited as well.
