A high end ladies bags store will be opening at unit 122 (Moschino, YSL). I think they also sell those coats and stuff.

HCafe now has their sign up. Headfoneshop is now open, they are doing mid-range to high-end headphones/earphones. Very knowledgeable owner. They moved here from Yonge and Lawrence.

Indian Crown now open. They have Tandoori chicken and tons of other dishes. For those who know what lassi is they have that too (yogurt drink).

The Emerald Pharmacy is actually going to come in. They have started renovations. The copy/fax/tax store is opening in July.

There is another clothing store that focuses more on shoes coming in.

Just noticed there is a 20% discount on Indian Crown food if you do take out, ends June 30. You have to bring the flyer.

Bill; What's doing with the "Toasty" unit? Is it being cleaned up for an opening or will they shut it down and leave the food court?
Any update on inquiries into Bazis high Hydro costs and maintenance fees?

It's been rented out again, the former tenants bailed, it's gonna be another Szechuan restaurant. On the budget issue can't say much about it, there are unknown liabilities, lots of things we are not sure of. We are working on it though. Will probably update you once this is all over, not going to be soon though, so much work to do.

Looks like the cereal place silo 13 already closed its doors

Looks more like Silo13 had their doors closed on them,.... ie: kicked out and had the lock changed for not paying rent. All Silo13's interior furnishing and inventory are still intact but there's a For Lease/Rent signage on store unit. Silo13's business model of selling self serve cereal in a Yonge Street frontage store never really made sense.

HCafe aka Uncle Tetsu will have soft opening on Wednesday and Thursday. Formal opening on July 1st - Canada Day.

Let the Emerald Park Japanese Cheesecake war begin! Uncle Tetsu (HCafe in unit 119) VS Love Me Sweet (unit 148),... Japanese cheesecake also available nearby at Bake Code @ 4910 Yonge (near SpringGarden Ave) and Cheese Garden @ 5291 Yonge St (between McKee & Norton Ave)

I'm gonna get sooo fat,... well, ok then,... fatter! (for those who know me)

It looks like they were shut down because of some legal reasons which they aren't allowed to talk about.

Reselling brand-name cereal?

Silo13 specialized in getting cereal not available locally,... including odd flavours and special edition of popular cereals from all over the world.

Interestingly the bowls and milk containers in that blogTO site,.... looks very similar to the ones used here,.... so Silo13 might have been a copycat of that UK concept or an renegade franchise that operated under a different name (otherwise challenging to source all those different cereal from all over the world).

This Toronto Star article from 2 years ago is about the above mentioned Cereal Killer Cafe concept in London UK.

All EmeraldPark retail units are independently (investor or store owner) owned, most retailers are renters committed to 5 year-renewable leases. Seeing one fold up after a couple of months is shocking. There's rumours of legal issues and money flow problems since store was empty more often than not. They were tweaking to sell other products but proposed 113% increase in maintenance fee and raise in minimum wage doesn't help. Here's a photo of what Silo13 looks like today,.... with all inventory and interior fixture like the day they closed,.... but now also being used as storage by landlord.

Anyways, Silo13 is first store at Emerald Park to close (that actually opened - a few never got to opening stage or beyond renovation stage or even beyond conceptual idea).

HCafe's soft opening today attracted a line up spanning from the store to well outside the mall. That was quite a sight.
