Thanks for the big photo update today. These pictures in particular show what a contribution whatchamacallit on Wellesley is going to make to our skyline. Looks they're preparing the lot for it as we speak.
Looks like they're only building the balconies up to the 26th floor for now until the other sides catch up. Probably to get the lower floors to move in asap so they can continue with top half
Interesting you say that. I think it's good, but there just a few too many design features going on at once--e.g., what's with the detailing on the top few floors?--and I think the off-white bands around the balcony could be more elegant...thinner, less busy, perhaps.
After 20 years, many buildings that looked good upon completion look bland and boring. They were attractive on completion because they were built in whatever style was fashionable, but there isn't much detail to hold people's interest. The level of detail on this building will be engaging for years to come--both up close and from a distance.
