Yup. The situation is very political. Instead of the police being called, it was the media. That alone should tell you something. The arrests looked like a tv-set.

Of course, this was not about just saving the poor, helpless animals. From the SPCA's actions, it's clear they have their own agenda front and centre. The SPCA is trying really hard find some dirt and make it into something it's not. So many people are manipulated by pictures and the media, to believe it was all for the benefit of the animals, when nothing could be further from the truth. I'm just saying wait until both sides have a chance to put their spin on it and the media have some time to digest it and hopefully cut through the bull-shit. We haven't heard the whole story, so don't jump to quick superficial conclusions.

The SPCA has had a problem with the THS even trying to force it to change its name. The mummified cat and few instances of leaving an animal suffering that were unsavable are awful but at the same time there are many well documented examples of animals the THS took in and spent a lot of time, money, and effort to rehabilitate... some of which other vets would have simply euthanized. Besides the mummified cat forgotten in the rafters most of the allegations of inhumane treatment could be alleged against hospitals which don't allow euthanasia for humans.

And of course if you are not a vegetarian or a vegan then you yourself are contributing to the cruelty of animals on a daily basis

Please read "Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal" by Eric Schlosser.

Inhumane slaughterhouse operations, E-Coli/Salmonella issues, and even fast-food preparations.

Yes its an old book, but the texts are still in effect as almost of all American agricultural business barely changed a bit...
