Oh they even laid some tracks between Fairview and the CP rail bridge. From my walk home today:

Don't worry, that track will come out soon, maybe even twice! Quite honestly, I don't think Metrolinx could build a cardboard box. This whole project has turned into an embarrassing disgrace for the residents and taxpayers. Come on, 56 years ago people were sent to the moon in less time in an age without computers and these guys here can't even lay track properly. I'm sick and tired of driving up Hurontario risking suspension damage and playing lane roulette. Which lane, without signage, will disappear this week? It really is a disgrace.

Cannot be touch until commutation wires are remove from polex that need to be remove and relocated to open the southbound curb lane as well the northbound poles with hydro installing new poles on the east side to allow building of the new northbound lane.

It been said some work will happen this year with hudro doing work in 2026 and all hydro.being completed in 2027 for the whole corridor.

Was ecpecting ties being installed south of Fairview after the Centreal Pkwt-Fairview was done. Now!, how long will it be before forming of the tracks take place to pour the concrete in place for the ties leaveing the tracks exposed?? Then, when will the guideway be built in 2 phases for the Fairview intersection and will it happen before King and Dundas intersections that were to be done months ago??
Hydro moved those poles and did the connections on the northbound side months ago.

I only drive on Hurontario when I absolutely have to. I am lucky I never have to at peak times. But even off-peak it's quite busy and the timing of traffic lights (like all of Mississauga) is garbage.
Yeah, me too. I usually only drive that stretch for the QEW to Mineola on the weekend. The northbound stretch is absolutely brutal with sunken and uneven pavement.

If you look closely, there are poles to be remove as well relocate for the northbound that haven't been touch since 2023/24, If you look at my photos for Zone 2, you will see what has to happen first before they can do the guideway work in the centre of the road as well on the side of the road. Mineola intersection is a good example how the rest of Zone 2 has to be built road, sidewalk and guideway wise. If you review your videos you will see the samething. Until Bell, Rogers and who everylese has cables on the existing pole remove or relocates them, poles cannot be remove.

At one time last year, it looked like they were going to nuild the northbound curb east of the poles and they stop work doing that early 2024.

Based on what been stated by ML, very little guideway work wi;ll be done this year south of the South Service road. Until they open the new Northbound as well the southbound lanes, they cannot do the guideway between both South Service Rd.

Same goes for the North Service Rd area until hydro relocates the 4 poles there so southbound traffic can be shifted to allow the building of the guideway.

What has been stated this year by ML and Moblinx has change many times so far this year. We may have a clearer idea come November 5th when ML appears before council.

What gets me, WHY did PNR start laying track south of Central Pkwy in place of Burnhamorpe?? Will not be surprise to see track being lay south of John St next to north of Dundas since these area still need to have the guideawy built across the 3 intersections.

It’s nice there’s confederation to the east but a similar road on the west would have been very useful. Once all the development takes place it’s going to be a nightmare to get to the qew and the Milton line will still not be done.

I love dog piling on those jabronis as much as the next guy (because they deserve it most of the time) but I genuinely think with Hurontario the majority of the recent issues lie with the contractor consortium.

Having to rip up tracks that were laid wrong, and not being able to pay their subcontractors causing them to get their credit rating downgraded isn't MX's fault...

I'd imagine that PNR found more deficiencies than ML would take months to find and is laying tracks where things are done properly and waiting for things to be fixed where they are not so they can actually do things instead of twiddling their fingers. They probably just want to get paid and get out at that point.

Oh 100%, but ML also needs to pull their weight in the sense that they can't put 95% of their trust in the consortium to do all the work and then come back and say things aren't being done properly. It's not like I'm asking for hands to be held, but if ML is the one paying the consortium for work being completed, they really should be taking more initiative to be on the ground to inspect things even if the consortium is telling them things are being done right, or things are okay, and so on.

At the risk of being repetitive, here's the view from today. A bit more work done. If they'd been working like this since the beginning of the year, we'd be sooooo much further along than we are now.

There was nothing really to document before, and now suddenly there is.

September 26, 2025

Took a walk down to Dundas to do a few things before picking up the rental car, as well as having a look at the corridor. I then took a quick drive to Steeles before heading into Toronto

Central Pkwy – Fairview

Both tracks were installed between the 2 intersections, with space left for the Fairview intersection work that may take place this year in 2 phases. Crew was working to align the southbound track at CP with clamps holding the intersection rail, as well as the new rail that will be spliced later. Brackets are installed to hold the rails in place as well as for spacing between the two rails, as well as the guideway wall. Once the measurements met the specifications required for the tie work, the rails were clipped to the tie. Another survey was taking place for the tracks.

Fairview -CP bridge

The northbound track has been installed to where there the centre curb start, with part of the southbound track also installed. The crew is installing the steel mats up to Fairview, allowing the remaining ties and rails to be installed.

Stockpile of rails and steel mats south of the tracks that is in place.

The excavator was doing grading and removal of dirt on both sides of CP bridge. It was also preparing the areas to see some backfilling before final grading takes place to pour the base of the guideway. The compact roller was working on the backfill material for both tracks base the Cooksville station

John St To Hillcrest

Stockpile of steel mats about the middle of the two intersections that are diagonal in the guideway, which almost take up the full width of the guideway.

Hillcrest-Dundas

A couple of stockpiles of steel mats by TLK setup like the John St To Hillcrest stockpile.

Dundas

The south-east corner road has been repaved, including the bus stop area, as well as stripping the crossing walkway. Work is still going on in a smaller area with a vacuum digging the hole.

Bott Construction is still working on the area between Britannia and the 401 eastbound off-ramps with a single lane of traffic. I need to get a closer look at what is taking place there. The same thing may happen to the southbound lanes.

Courtneypark intersection

The intersection is fully closed to all east-west traffic as the concrete for the tracks is being removed, as well as some other work.

Topflight intersection

A huge crew is on site at the intersection, and it looks like all the trackwork is done, waiting for concrete work

Paving has been done on the south side of the 407 bridge as well as the bridge, including part of the 407 eastbound ramp. Nothing on the north side

Brampton is still a dead zone.

OMSF

All the construction fencing has been removed on Kennedy for the site, with concrete barriers still in place. The best I could see as well-being wrong was 6 LRVs on one track in the yard.

QEW

Hydro has removed the wires from the 4 poles that need to be removed to allow the opening of the southbound lanes. It looks like those wires are now underground, as more poles are being installed to the north, with the wires going underground.

South-East South Service Rd corner curb in place as well lane paved. It still needs curb work for the north-east corner, as well as relocation of the hydro pole.

Fail to note a 3 person crew looking at the guideway between CP and Elm as they may jump here next abd do up to Burnhamthorpe next since it ready.

Most photos are now on line for today shooting with some more still to come.

Count six cars outside and no idea what if any inside. Only 2 more cars since June shooting

Those 6 LRVs that are in the yard are there as there is no room inside for them as it is full of other LRVs and no numbers for them.

How Many intersections will see tracks rebuilt??? Courtneypark intersection that supposed to be done by November 4th is currently one of 5 that has to be done that is known at this time,

Topflight intersection is supposed to be open on October 15. Rails are 100% installed as well being splice with more to take place. All splicing should be done next week that concrete nay start to take place,

The OMSF guideway still being built with part of the south end tracks encased ib xoncrete, No idea what still has to be done for the east-west section.

Part of the curb is poured for the westbound ramp to the 407 on the northside of the bridge. as well betwwen it and the off ramp. Paving still to be done for the north end except between the two ramps. More concrete curb work still has to be done for Hurontario and the eastbound ramp, otherwise the northbound lanes can open early October.

Fail to check Derry Station work and did not look at Brampton area at all.

There is a large slab area south od Derry with fencing around it that you no isea what is taking place going north. Going south you can see concrete removed from the encased northbound track.

Queensway platform is formed and ready for concrete pour.

Aeron crew working on wiring for a pole that may have cable going underground north of the Morth Service Rd and fail to stop on my way back from Port Credit.

All the steel mats in place for the southbound track south of Fairview. Look like a 2 man crew doing something between CP ans Fairview and were sitting on the rails as I drove by.

Forming and pouring of the WYE base is taking place as you can see the formwok from Hurontario as well the eastbound off ramp to Hurontario.

Very large hole on the north side where the 403 ramp will connect to Hurontario qs well part of the area where the fome bkocks are to go for the ramp.

My plan for today was to do some video shooting of a few areas as well the whole corridor but the new camera either has an issue or all 3 batteries for it were dead considering I have yet to use the spare batteries that were charge over a week ago. It kill the video shooting and try using the Mark II with poor luck as it refused to stay in fouces. Best to do the video shooting is around 8 am on Sunday when traffic is light and also when the sunrise is happening these days.

You can see the poles that need to be removed before roadwork and curbing can take place for the northbound lane. It been this way since 2023.
