I think the actual machine that inspired Rocky is long gone, though. They only needed that extra long digging arm for a certain part of the project

Back from a week’s vacay, and a glorious morning for a wee walkabout. Various themes here, but main focus is on a tiny plug, a larger plug, and (apologies in advance) a shameless plug. 
Plenty of work on the north bank.
Quite the playground…
Quite the canoe playground…
Water under the bridge…but does water run through it yet?
Maybe? (Under the workers near the tire)…plus water spraying up to the right presumably from continued plug removal.
Street-destroying work here is next level…
Now to the bigger plug. And what progress!
Finally…primary reason for a week away. Mazatlan, MX. 4 minutes 13 seconds totality watching it come in from the Pacific. With a myriad of astronomy geeks intermingled with locals. Surreal. First pic is 95% totality (so 5% glint of sun shining down) with most of the masses of humanity just left of frame. Second pic is a couple minutes later (totality).

The Lake Ontario end river plug under the lemon bridge is FULLY BROKEN THROUGH!! Like water flowing clearly. It's spectacular!

As it is not yet opened at the north (Keating) end, I doubt there is much flow but it is clearly excellent progress!
