Great shots, It was out of order in 2019 (as noted above) and I think it is now unable to 'get an erection' so we may never see it in the vertical position again.

It is 'interesting' they have removed the old rail bridge as someone (the city?) spent $$$ fixing it up about 3-4 years ago. I had assumed they would re-purpose it for cycling but I guess not. The rail bridge certainly was also used to carry conduits and these seem to be being replaced by the new 'conduit-beam' further upstream. It looks to me as though the Don is being widened, the concrete with the arrow looks like a new bridge support on west bank??

It's remarkable how long people can survive/be revivable when in cold waters.Apparently the fellow found in the water was brought back, briefly.........before dying in hospital a short while ago.

While I want to applaud the efforts to save the driver, once recovered; and absent fulsome facts, don't want to throw anyone under the proverbial bus, I do wonder if the outcome might have been different had more aggressive efforts been made to recover the driver earlier.
They pulled him from the water at about 1:15pm according to the above, which is roughly 4hrs 30m after he went into those frigid waters.

I'm not sure why you're saying 'If an accident'; that there was a collision between 2 vehicles has been documented in this thread.

Assuming the Jeep did some sort of 180 before the impact based on the rear end damage?
What are the odds this car hit or flew over this spot where the vertical support was missing? It probably wouldn’t have made a difference.
I wonder if the roller coaster road had any impact on the choice of speed?
Driving on a frozen road probably doesn’t help the traction.

I think that WT awarded the demo contract several months ago so I bet everyone wants to get it gone ASAP, I was there yesterday and there were lots of utility locates sprayed in the area. I bet they start work the minute the new bridges are open. This contract to a 'heavy lift' crane contractor may be a clue...

In the past (and in the future??) they had to dredge the Keating Channel. Do they ever dredge the Ship Channel or will they have to do dredging there once it becomes an 'overflow' for the Don - presumably that will bring down lots of silt and junk.
