I like the Bathurst and Bloor frontages but I’m not sold on the Bloor-Bathurst corner. The corner massing could be in danger of feeling oppressive yet at the same time strangely sterile at street level.
I was driving across downtown yesterday and I had a funny thought: Toronto architecture does sterile so well that at some point it may flip over and become a redeeming design feature. What I mean is that once you start reaching a certain level of density you aren’t making people’s lives better by encouraging street vibrancy. You may actually be making people’s lives better by taking measures to kill street vibrancy. So maybe they are on to something here at the corner.
Avenue, you needn't worry. I'm sure rents here will start at upper middle-class prices.
Any idea how much a 2 bedroom apartment will rent for here? I signed up with the developer to hear about leasing. I'm guessing these apartments will rent for 2500 or more per month.
