Museum House, 206 Bloor St. W.: Though not quite complete, this handsome 19-storey tower is a positive, if not exciting, addition to the midtown landscape. A conservative example of late-modernist architecture, it does nothing fancy. Clad in limestone at the ground level, it rises, all steel and glass, to a height that feels appropriate in this context. The entrance is modest; the building makes more of an effort to be a part of the streetscape. That’s a sign of just how much the condo industry has grown and matured. This gesture, though small, recognizes that every urban building, no matter its purpose, is part of a larger conext, namely, the city.

Hume gave this an A.. quite the opposite of what this board seems to think.

Well, I agree with everything he said in what you excerpted there. But what about the west side of the building!?!?! The West Siiiide!

Walked by today. Limestone cladding on the base is well done. The retail unit is well defined with high ceiling and windows. The ground level is overall very nice. Just don't look up.

The double doors to the left is the retail entrance, which occupies two floors of space up front. The residential door is underneath the '206' and set back from the sidewalk a bit.

A few posts back androiduk mentioned that there was a sign on site saying that the unit was actually sold. I'm curious as well to hear if anyone knows which retailer may have bought it.

According to the sign on site, this unit has been sold. Must be a highender to lay out that kind of $. Be nice to see the mink mile extended to a mile and a quarter.

One article I was reading yesterday mentioned that US retailers r used to buying space rather than renting. So ur right it could possibly be a high end US retailer.

You know you're an urban density nerd when the coming down of the scaffolding (or whatever it's called on the street) makes you feel palpably relieved.

Yeeeep.
