Michael Brothers Excavating & Grading has 2 or 3 pieces of equipment on site and a couple of guys were spray painting marks on the gravel.
 
They were also removing some chunks of concerte that were left behind from the demolition several months back.

Concerning the wind, the wind tunnel testing facility can help to minimize the amount of wind being caused by #1Bloor, but will not necessarily reduce the wind at the intersection. A lot of the wind is caused by the building design of the existing buildings, such as 2 Bloor East/West. Because of their designs the wind at higher altitudes hits the sides of the buildngs and are deflected down. Without podiums, the wind will blow straight down to the street level and sidewalks. Add a 2-3 storey podium and set the tower back 5 metres and the downward wind will hit the top of the podium and be deflected away, decreasing the amount of wind reaching the street level.
 
The purple signs have been there since Sept. they essentially say Number 1 Bloor by Great Gulf, coming soon.

thats some interesting info regarding wind mitigation...
 
Too bad, I really thought that two condo towers would have worked well here to increase both building and residential density.
