Thanks, guys! I'll have to go back in the spring time when there's leaves on the trees. The bare trees were so ugly that I made the middle ground darker than I normally would have.

Bare trees are most definitely not ugly. They're fine, filigreed drawings against the sky. I guess it's proof beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

old abandoned bridge for CN rail i believe, the whole line hasn't been used in years, someone needs to post a route to the trail
Yeah, I know of that bridge; I just didn't know it was referred to as that. Too bad it doesn't connect with the Brickworks.

Bare trees are ugly (to me) from a distance when clumped together. It's just a sea of neutral brown which I personally don't find pleasing at all. I'd rather them be covered in snow but that would've meant I would be sitting in the snow on the bridge too.

The name of the bridge is Half-Mile Bridge for anyone wondering.

The easiest and quickest way to access it is to take the stairs down from pedestrian bridge located just north of Gerrard. You can access the bridge from Riverdale Park East or West and the stairs are located just to the west of the DVP. Walk north in the valley until you're under the Prince Edward Viaduct (Bloor/Danforth Bridge). If you walk east under the bridge, you'll go up a small hill to train tracks that you can follow to the bridge. It's only a few minutes from there.

It's impossible to fall between the cracks in the bridge but it still stresses me out walking on it and I haven't gotten up the nerve to to walk the full distance yet :( In the three times I've been on it I stop before I'm directly above the traffic running below. I think it's the same part of me that gets uneasy when climbing stairs that don't have backing on it (they only have material that your foot lands on). One day I'll make the full hike which eventually leads you up into the Leaside area.

Going eventually cross it during night with that great skyline view plus the new Prince Edward Viaduct lights that I've never seen in person

What is so compelling about walking in the half-mile bridge? Is it because of the views?

You can certainly access that bridge from the Brickworks. You just need to know how to get to it. Quite easy.
