Is king and bathurst going to feel like yonge and eglinton where it felt like they were digging to the centre of the earth for the last decade?
There is no underpinning of an active transit station above and the station will be mined. So aside from the two shafts where the headhouses will be, there will not be much disruption to the surface in addition to what is already being experienced.

Thank you, that is reassuring to hear.

Friday, January 12: From above - ongoing demolition of both the south and north of King Street buildings. First, the Banknote (south side) building, followed by the buildings on the north side of King Street. A side note - notice has been sent by Metrolinx that the retention structure for the Banknote building King Street facade is due to be erected sometime the week of January 15.

So does this mean they will be turning 668 King Street into a station too? I am happy they are keeping these heritage buildings but it does suck losing two structures that make for really nice retail/restaurant atmospheres. On the other hand, they will be cool subways stops :)

Work is coming along:

Was surprised to see a Cottage Springs logo on the wall this morning. Couldn't grab a photo of it, but saw it peaking out in @AHK 's photos above. Not sure how old Cottage Springs is as a company to have a really old logo, or they were tenants and added it, or lastly someone just really wanted it on their wall haha.

They were a building tenant!

January 26 - Update photos, work is progressing quite quickly on both the north and south side of King Street buildings. South side first, then the north side. Last photo on the north side shows a detail I have not seen before - a panelized section of the front facade of the main building loaded up and ready to go to its off-site storage location.
