For some reason I'm more excited about this subway station and what the project will mean for the intersection than any other development in the city at the moment.

Walked by on Wednesday and the lane closures are now (at least partially) in place! It's all moving pretty fast.

February 13 - A view of the Queen and Spadina demolition from the rear of the building. Not much left of the above ground structure - the major activity earlier today however was the very loud demolition of the former bank vault, with a good sized PDI excavator using a jack hammer attachment (below).

Tuesday, February 20: Shoring has started at the south-west corner (former TD Bank branch location) for the Ontario Line Queen and Spadina station. Also - a photo of the north-east corner retention structure glowing in the afternoon sunshine.

Sort of related, where are the entry and exit points for the boring machines for this line? Am I right to assume one is Exhibition Station, and the other is somewhere in Corktown?

I remember someone finding a document that showed TBM extraction at osgoode station.

February 22: North side - the bank vault has been removed, and the basement area is being backfilled to create the stable bases for the shoring and excavation equipment - views from both the north end of the site, the Spadina Avenue sidewalk and the Queen Street facade with the open view behind the window openings. On the south side of Queen Street - shoring work is actively under way.

Monday, March 4: On the north side, the balance of the demolition work has basically been completed - all that is left above grade of the prior building are the exterior walls being retained on site. An excavator is digging out the remains of the below grade structure - should be finished soon.

On the south west corner of Queen and Spadina, shoring work is well underway. The depth to bedrock for this station can be seen on the height of the steel 'I' beam.

March 6 - excavation of the the former CIBC basement and bank vault is complete - now on to the next phase of work.
