I looked at old pictures of the building and were those mountains in the facade always there? I didn't see them.
 
Yeah, the way these two buildings interact is amazing. I love it. Also, the heritage re-building makes this building shine. This is an excellent addition.
 
The building is starting to look more better than the rendering. I love the angles of this building, and the way glass glimmers in the sunset. This should of went up another twenty storeys.

So after a quick search, it appears that those "mountains" were part of the original design of the building:

Agreed. I'm a big fan of office amenities like terraces and sky gardens. I find those to be lacking in the city, and I wish the Bay Adelaide towers were designed with a setback or two similar to 4WTC, even to break up their boxy design (but I do understand the efficiency behind the floor plate).
Thankfully, many of the new wave of office towers proposed will have these types of features.
 
Love this building, but I do wish it was taller. Toronto is hightist! Why is Toronto afraid of shadows?

Oh and the Sapphire Tower was gorgeous and should have been built.
