The size (sq footage) of the Scotia Bank Arena is probably one of it's only cons. It is easily among the smaller building in both the NBA and NHL.

This deficiency was shown when the NBA all star game came to Toronto a few years ago and part of the events festivities were moved to the Coca Cola Coliseum. Even then there were constraints due to the limited size of the physical building.

I suspect that they might be able to expand the upper level concourses out by cantilevering out over the sidewalks, but this would be a major undertaking. The office building could be razed and incorporated into the building, again involving significant costs. The lower bowl, however doesn't have much room to expand into. Unless they take some of the galleria space, or expand again into Maple Leaf Square.

The NHL may have something to say about razing the office building.

I believe their War Room and Toronto HQ are in there.

Obvious analysis: walls are closer in but also mostly higher (CF is lower, interestingly!)
Somewhere, baseball nerds are overlaying last year's spray charts to see if it's actually as balanced an approach as the Jays seem to be aiming for.

So, more doubles and triples, slight drop in home runs BUT without doing more complicated analysis that takes launch angles etc. into account, hard to just easily map like what hits-to-the-wall last year would be home runs now (and vice versa).

One think they should have added to the renovation is coming up something grandiose for celebrating past players and management instead of the cheap looking level of excellence which consists of blue backboard letters and lots of glue, why couldn’t we come up with a different but similar to what the Yankees have in their outfield. Another idea is have a huge blue jay in around centre field and have smaller blue jays around the stadium such like this image, trying to get the Rogers centre to feel like it’s the blue jays house44BAB067-C8F3-4BC7-B5F3-6925D8297ADF.jpeg

That sounds kind of tacky. Also, what image are you talking about?

I don’t see the image you are referencing?

ahh, looks like they panned that glass area in the RF corner. it was on the renderings, then nothing announced and now on this pic there's just nothing there lol.

Looking good. Pictures of the renderings are coming along well. Makes it easier to see and visualize everything now it is almost complete. Didn't realize how different the seating is from the 200 level to the 100 level. You can really see the difference in the direction and positioning of the seating. Can't wait to see this fixed.

Are you suggesting the angle (direction) of the seats have changed for the 200 level? How is that possible without changing the concrete base of that deck?

He's referring to the orientation of the seating. Obviously there were no changes to the 200 level except in the OF areas. 200 level seating is more oriented towards the diamond relative to 100 level seating, especially down the foul lines, which faces the outfield.
