This looks like they took one piece of the giant egg beater that sits at 1 Yonge and just moved it down the street.
Indeed, but the egg beater is actually at the Residences of the World Trade Centre, 10 Yonge St.

Just a little note to all of those who said that Café Neuf would never make it…still here and thriving! Also the fountains are all cleaned up and working and this area looks lush and beautiful. Taken 22 June.View attachment 574622View attachment 574623

That's great! I was there 2 weeks ago & there was a heavy water-logged duvet (yes, I tried to drag it out) in the fountain & other garbage. Looks much better now! 😊

Has this spaced been used? It is at the southeast corner of the
Innovation Centre. I think that it is well placed and could act as a little theatre\cinema for the budding community here. Or maybe GB/French University could use it?

Boozy brunch at Simona’s! In this thread because the patio is going to really activate the east end of the Common. This area is lovely! 🥰

Is it bougie? Fuck yes! And I love it! Lol

Taken 23 June.

I believe it was an earlier post of yours that introduced me to Simona's which was why I was in the area recently. I loved it too!

Reasonable (Simona's = somewhat) restaurants with lake views are rare in TO, and restaurants with a park view even rarer yet Simona's has both. Most importantly, the food's actually good too and isn't just your typical burger & fries. And of course, lot's of fun new architecture to admire nearby.

Do you ever worry about flying your drone close to or in flight paths to Billy Bishop?

Good question.

I'm definitely close to it, but totally safe and not where I shouldn't go.

The great thing about flying a DJI drone is certain airspace is geo-locked so you can't go where you're not allowed - even if you tried.

Here's what it looks like:

To shoot downtown I have to upload all my personal info and apply for a two-day permit. If approved, it unlocks the blue zone, but the red zone is always locked. That's the flight path in and out of Billy Bishop.

There are also all kinds of locks on height restriction too, so that you don't fly too high and get in the way of light aircraft and helicopters.

It's all really well-regulated if you have a DJI drone.

Interesting, thanks for that info. I do have one, but I was hesitant to shoot anything in Toronto. Mostly I’ve used it at the cottage, where I try to capture fall colours. I tend to lose it a few hundred metres up, and a few hundred metres away from my when flying up here, with GPS and cellular being weak. It then returns while I freak out that it’s fallen in the lake or forest. (It hasn’t of course.)

I always see the warnings, but it seems we can override that also, so I guess ideally I just don’t do that, and I should be ok in the city? Sometimes it suggests the allowable ceiling is really low, so that was always odd also.
I’ll try again in Toronto, hopefully to post here. Thanks for this information.
