Very Random question and this definitely doesn't belong here but I thought I'd give it a go:

Does anyone have any idea how much square feat of commercial space there is in Manhattan (i.e. just on the island).
I was trying to find out and couldn't get a good answer, I thought I read 300 million but that seemed a little low to me.

^^^Shame that view of the Royal York will be lost. With these towers, Ice, Maple Leaf Square, possibly 90 Harbour, etc etc etc all going up around the south end, Royal York is going to become something of a hidden gem. This saddens me a bit, but I figure if the new buildings are pleasing and tall, then the loss of RY views will be counted by me as an acceptable loss.

You better get your shots of various building to the north in Aug as it will be too late come next year.

The sad part that they built the new plus 30 bridge over York St with the north side block off for any view of the north side.

The Southcore cluster in Sketchup Model and Google Earth.

The 18 York Model and the ICE Model are by Wyliepoon, and the Infinity model is by Jon, both from the Sketchup Model Bank.

I'd marked 90 Harbour and it's sister property - 120 Harbour - across York in yellow, as part of BuildToronto. The Harbour Commission is outlined in pink - hopefully awaiting lovely rejuvenation someday.

i have to say i'm pumped to see what goes up in the lots highlighted in yellow/pink ^^^
that looks like a great opportunity to create something unique, developers don't waste it!

Thanks for the visuals. They give a pretty vivid impression of the urban mistake that is being made in the area, generally speaking. At least it all looks shiney and tall from a distance, even if somewhat bland.
