Without a BMU, replacing one glass unit can take 2 - 3 days. During construction, this is nearly impossible, as you constantly end up in the way of the structural crew, and your own curtain walling crew. So, lots of units on lower portions of the tower get left for months and months and months. Typically they are left until the BMU is available, as using it provides the most cost-efficient way to replace broken units.

Thanks wopchop. That makes sense. Do you know when the BMU will be fully functional?

Not sure if the sun will highlight the tower from Riverdale and if so, have to see what the time frame is for it.

^No sunshine on the dome? You'd think if Mr Trump wanted a penis on top, he would have thought to make it a bit longer.

How old are we on here and if we al mostly made up of men on this forum youd think they'd know what one looks like. Just sayin. This buildiing looks great and it's an interest to the skyline not an eye soar. Up close yes it does look slightly cheap in comparison to its surrounding neighbors but never the less a nice addition for Toronto.

big things come in small packages ;)

Went inside of Trump for the first time today... said i just wanted to check out the place, and the staff was friendly, they even told me to check out the 31st floor and showed me to the elevators. (also some sweet classic cars on display on the ground floor)... WOW! inside is complete bling. the interiors are very flashy and sexy. up on the 31st floor, the restaurant is VERY small, it feels almost, but amazing and feels grounded at the same time, it's a real place up in the skies :D.

the lobby is by far the greatest thing ever. the dark black tone and crystals. it's sick. i don't get how even the Ritz can compete imo.

my only dislike/disappointment was the elevators (at least the ones i took that go up to the 31st floor). kinda plain and clashes with the lobby design. it's light woof and there's a big framed mirror in it.. kinda weird... but the elevators are CRAZY SMOOOOOOOOTH!!! the smoothest i've ever been on in my life. period.

Any pictures from inside ?

Just to second what you said I've had some friends check it out. They say the inside is very impressive, it isn't something you typically see in Toronto. They described it along these lines: Extremely extravagant, Dubai / Las Vegas / cruise ship like so yes some will find it tacky.

I'd love to see pictures though!

Why can't Trump always look that sharp? Some angles, it's great. Others--especially the shots here that show so much of the granite (I believe?) siding, just looks like hell (but good pics Steveve ;))

It looks like strange plastic siding; something I'd put on a cheap home model of a skyscraper.
