I figure it's not the perfect spot for it, but I still want to see Simons downtown, and I think it could work here given other retail draws to the site.

Simons would be nice.

Don't rule out any of the retailers that bid on Target's leases. I don't believe this location was included in the list of properties available for auction. The lease likely went right back to the landlord as nothing was built or occupied when Target ceased operations.
 
I'd love an ikea as well. Think it would make sense. Simons would be nice but I think it would make more sense at yonge and shutter where buffalo was next to urban outfitters
 
I would also like to see an Ikea here. I would prefer to see a large Simons store on Yonge Street. I think it's time for Yonge Street to start developing some serious shopping between Dundas and Bloor.

Good point and seeing as most announcements that were made were specifically about taking over leases this deal could get announced separately.
