I remember attending a community consultation meeting back in 2012 for the earlier proposal on the Brixton site. The previous developer had approached the owner of Riverview Produce but they wouldn't budge as it was a large profitable operation for them. Anything can happen in the future of course and especially for the right offer. Curious if Hullmark may consider working on a potential assembly of them as well.
Good thing they didnt, or we would be stuck with an entire complex of trash grey spandrel laced towers.

I applaud them for saying no to the developer.

It manages to deliver better than the name would imply. I suppose next they'll build the 'Compton', 'Bedford Stuyvesant', and 'Favela Towers'.

Should have been less spandrel, more brix.

I could forgive the massing but the sloppy material treatment is so severe and imposing - these buildings feel like battleships. I know they’ll rent regardless of what they look like but it’s so frustrating to see these turds rise in such a visible location.

Does this project still include work/industrial space which if I think was supposed to be offered at affordable or below market rates? anyone know where to get info on renting the space??
