The 91 storeys was never going to happen. It was a last minute attempt at trying to make shareholders happy. There was no real merit to it.

If sales were going well, I feel 100% confident that they would have built the taller version.

We have asked for up-to-date architectural drawings. I want to see where this magical 86th floor is supposed to be. Failing new plans that shows where it is, we have dropped the DB file stats back to the 85-storey version.

And Tridel seems more of a foster parent taking in an unwanted child than that of a confident owner here. /sigh

The unwanted child of a receiver? Receivers are not equivalent to foster parents themselves, more like halfway houses. Mizrahi certainly did want this child, they just couldn't afford to raise them anymore. Tridel is taking on a sprouting teen that needs some experienced parenting to get it to adulthood!

And IIRC it came with quite a bit of $$$ to be given in S.37 payments if they were to go through with height increase. I can't find the settlement decision but I believe was in the millions, if not tens of millions.

It’s not too bad but it is definitely a bummer

I think the top section of the newer version is disappointing, looking a little like an add-on, not too elegant. Oh well, it may balance better with 1BE as seen from the DVP.

Bummer about the height. All of the Skygrid paperwork also hinted towards the 85 storey version of the tower.

No possibility of that: all of the external cladding materials — suspender frames, windows, etc — are already fabricated, so the floors will go up as designed.

100% agree on both points lol
As I said earlier I think the 85 story looks better overall on the skyline, but now pinnacle one younge is gonna stick out even more
