This has to be without a doubt the slowest moving reconstruction project in the city. I know it's engineering is unusual, but it has been months to get 3 floors above the
original building. Anyone who bought into this development may be retired before they get definite move in date.

I think there's a lot of work going on up there that we don't see. I assume once we have a story of tower above what's built now it should be moving at a faster pace. Keep in mind they're also working off of a site that is still being used for business so there's likely some area restrictions in place too.

The way I see it, construction started 2 years ago and we have a 20-21-storey tower now out of 55. We may have had an 18-storey tower to start out, but when you weigh the engineering time against excavation and plenty of forming for a typical tower, it isn't too far off. Aura started construction in 2010, and it took over 2 years for it to reach a similar height.
I don't think that these buyers are waiting any longer for their units than residents of the average a tall tower.

The yellow crane isn't smaller... The yellow one is a much more robust crane with a huge base, meant to lift very heavy steel members into place and based on previous photos was anchored to the existing building and doesn't look like it could climb with the building. The new crane will be a typical tower crane that is most likely anchored on a pad built into the massive concrete transfer floor. My guess is the yellow one will be dismantled and removed by the new tower crane once it's certified.

i guess 4 floors a month is reasonable to build it to the top but not to have them ready for people to move in
