It wouldn't. Bricks just don't look like they used to (primarily because they are constructed differently today).

How would the colour differ? Modern brick makers can make the same colours. What's stopping the architect from pairing bright colours with subdued charcoals, greys, and browns?
 
Why are people complaining about the colour an artist thought would look good in a render 4 years ago?
 
Hey, don't blame the artist, either. They get paid for their work... blame their paymaster for green-lighting the dream.
 
The brick is quite reflective. I'm sure it will be much brighter in the sun not that I don't care either way. You can have too much colour.
