Aren't the subtle pieces of flare on street signs enough? You don't want to exploit a neighbourhood's heritage to the point where it ends up becoming a ghetto.

That's why I said monuments of local and national significance as well. The multicultural ones could be designed in reference to Canadian values and culture as well. I think that's why the Roncesvalles case is successful. The Katyn memorial reminds freedom loving Canadians the dangers of totalitarianism and the crucifix and papal statue are a reminder of shared Christian heritage.
