Second Ellis Don crane up today for the office tower.

The new crane is for the tallest residential building. It shares a podium with the office tower up until the sixth floor, and then splits into the two separate towers. I believe Ellis Don is building the shared podium but then Deltera will take over for the residential tower.

Are you sure it is for the Residential tower? I don't believe we have heard of a sales centre or anything have we? I agree it will be used for the basement and podium levels though.
Please correct me though.

Cheers,

I find it difficult to believe it is for the east residential tower as well. That excavation is not even done yet. I’m sure someone can post the site plan and it will all be clear.

You make a good point. And I should have said "I think" this crane is for the residential tower, not asserted this as a fact. The garage goes down to P6 under the east residential tower so how could this be the crane for that? It's sitting on P4. Here is the P5 plan. I have highlighted about where I think these cranes are based on the pictures.

I have heard on good authority that there will be one crane for each building (7) plus two for the canopy = 9 total. But this new crane on site doesn't seem to fit that idea.

They finish installing the 2nd crane today and one of the last 2 cranes to be had. One of the crane suppliers has order 10 new ones. Give it another month or 2, at least 6 will be remove from a number of sites. Given the number of cranes that have come down this year, surprised on the shortness of them.

400 trucks a day are moving the dirt and the last load will be in Sept.
Photos to follow.
