Looks a bit boring to me (the “cat park”). Wasn’t there going to be some water feature? Seems restrained.

Correct, there's technically two "cat" parks planned.
1. Love the detail with the birds! The bins... not so much.
2. Public art component looks pretty much identical to the one outside of 250 Wellington St W. Anyone have details on this piece/artist?

Poor little kitty sculpture. I'm sure a local dog has already peed on it. That fate is inevitable.
The city's recycling and garbage disposal bins always manage to bring a sense of shoddiness to wherever they're located. Mass-produced quality is likely as easy and cost-effective to produce as mass-produced banality.

It's quite inconceivable to me that Toronto uses those residential grade bins in city parks, I still can't believe it's been accepted as a solution. I don't know if I've seen that anywhere else in my travels.
