I feel a little dirty asking but, my curiosity is getting the best of me. Anyone have any inkling on the progress of the hotel and decided not to post it here? I've done my share of google search in the last couple months to no avail. It just seems strange to me there isn't a "coming soon" posted anywhere.

Been wondering this as well.. yesterday when I looked from the outside of the building it seems that the hotel portion is very much still a construction site, and even looking online there doesn't seem to be anything updated. Would have thought that they would have wanted to open by fall/winter in time for the Taylor Swift concert in Toronto/other city events, but from a layman's point of view it doesn't look like it will be ready by then.

This is Adelaide to Richmond no? Is there separate construction from King to Adelaide?
The notice re watermain is Adelaide to Richmond but these projects often have 'spill-over' effects, particularly with post-work repaving.

The Google listing for the Rui Hotel says that it will open in December but not taking reservations yet.

The main visible work at the site is the rehabilitation of the legacy townhouse units. Short note for anyone not familiar with the background on these units. The initial plans for this development would have included a full site basement garage, with these buildings deconstructed brick by brick, and then rebuilt for commercial / retail use on top of the garage structure, raising them up so they would have ground level access from the street, along with elevator access to a common corridor behind the units.

After the site was sold to the current developers, the plans were revised, the excavation for the foundations and garage went around the townhouses - they were maintained in situ, and are being refurbished. As they no longer meet AODA requirements for retail / commercial use, my understanding is that they are now going to be restored as residential accommodation.

Kinda ugly lower middle class family homes will be multi-million dollar condos wedged between skyscrapers. It's all weird and very Toronto. The attention given to these to renovate and restore while other significantly grander structures and where the replacement is the neighbourhood oddity face the wrecking ball.

What are these things on the top of the hotel building? Are these industrial fans? Do they make big noise?
