I know this is a month and a half late ( from July 26th) but I just recently did a co-op placement for a month (july 2012) at architectsAlliance and I have some photo's from a tour of Theatre Park's Pit to share (also toured ICE & St. James Parish Hall, Edgemere - Oakville, & Brock Univ - St. Catherines)
Stephen Wells mentioned that once they get above the 6th floor or so the tower will be going up fast from there. They also had the idea of working during the night to fast track progress.
Isn't that amusing how DM is yanking down the theatre yet there's a prime parking lot for the picking. Perhaps that is the site for that other supertall ppl are talking about? (Although iirc it's supposedly gonna block Shangri-La's western view.)
Now if I were BJL I'd demand the original height (50s?) be built here if DM is going to get 80s+.
Often the foundations and bottom-most floors are designed and built in a way that would allow the addition of more floors later on (sales permitting). Three stories isn't all that many, however I doubt they've designed the lobby and floors from there to support an additional three floors. Guess we'll see...
