How's the Vaughan "Metropolitan Centre" going? Are there condos or offices under construction near there yet?

I don't go by there often, and I'm assuming Google street view is out of date.

that building has been under construction for far longer than that. It had its crane up in late august IIRC.

Union station second platform is on budget, subway cars on budget, etc. they throw in large contingencies so that they have room to work with.

it is also why I suspect the scarborough subway will not change price much.

Ottawa is using a P3 like Eglinton is it not? those are fairly new in infrastructure investment, the TTC is using the "old" version.

Thanks for the tour!

The ground level is the nicest to me, really shows off the structural architecture, and the ceiling treatment is interesting.

The wall finishes in the corridors to the bus terminals look fairly blah to me, they remind me of the Bloor line.

I also really wish we could change two TTC 'standards'.

The basic platform lighting doesn't really appeal to me. If we can go artistic w/distinctive lighting at each station, we should, at least be able to elevate the standard.
My instinctual preference for its ability to fit a variety of styles/looks would be to uplight the platform area, but I'd be open to just a more elegant fixture system that the standard v-shape.

Also, as much discussed, I'm not a big fan of the polished concrete track-side walls. Other systems manage to come up with low-maintenance surfaces that seem a bit more polished and brighter; I'd like to think we could do the same.
