It's true! You don't realize that you are right downtown here; it's a little oasis and a very cool and peaceful area to call home. I have always loved UofT since a kid and it's one of the nicest schools I have ever been to in the world.

St. Mike's is an oasis. I very much enjoyed my time over there as a student, and soaked it up for years.

Currently living at St. Mike's and I'm loving it! Only complaint is the construction waking me up every morning :p (Although it does wake me up in time for class)

Great picture! As much as the low(er) height of the area around Victoria University causes a break in the skyline/density, I'm glad we have an area like that in our city. Ditto with U of T.

Agree. We're treated to a magnificent vista behind the Ontario legislature. What a huge loss it would be if someone argued that the only suitable backdrop behind the legislature is sky and that the city should be hidden from view.

Oh wait, they are doing that but in the other direction.

I took a taxi from Bloor and Bathurst to Yonge and Dundas recently, we drove down Bloor and turned onto Bay. What surprised me is how this project really closes in Bay street, in a good way. I tried to picture the city with fresh eyes during the trip and I realized that if you didn't already know the exact layout of the streets, you would be forgiven for thinking that the core is a lot more dense than it is. Especially now that these towers block out what used to be largest undeveloped section from Bloor to the rail yards. I'm sure once 1000 Bay goes up the effect will be even greater.

Cellphone pics. (urgh)

After this is done is it would help to install a crosswalk or lights at St. Mary st to help the increase in pedestrians this will surely bring to an unsafe intersection.

One more development like this and we can officially steal the title of "Twin City" from Minneapolis/St.Paul !!

:p
