Too soon to make a judgement on the cladding, but at least so far it's just boring, instead of being a third installment in the College-Spadina new-build horror-shows.
This is OT, but I get annoyed all over again every time I see the new pedestrian barriers at Spadina streetcar stops. Over the last year the City (or Astral, I guess?) has been removing the original green shelters and custom barriers that, along with the matching streetlights, provided a coherent design language all the way down to the lake, and replaced them with bottom-of-the-parts-bin cheap junk. This is one of our major avenues. It's a small thing – we've got way bigger problems! – but it's yet another of those "Toronto's miserly public realm" things and ugh.
