Loving the big setback from the sidewalk. Gonna feel a lot less cramped.
 
Yes, with the hoarding starting to disappear, everything here is looking grander, both around and between the buildings.

For those who haven't seen it Westlake now has an onsite sales centre, it's nice and worth checking out. They have also confirmed that Scotia Bank along with TD, Metro, and Shoppers have all signed leases. The Encore project might even bring a Joey's.


The project looks great, you should check it out.

Great news about Joey's though that'll be years away. What is the source of the news? Reliable?

You could actually drive in and park in front of the sale centre.

BTW, they're talking to the Joey's and Earl's people. Nothing signed yet. There are a number of spots available beyond the two banks, Metro, and Shoppers that have been announced so far, so it won't all be banks. There are many, many more stores coming to the area in the future in other developments, so don't worry about a couple of banks here.

All directions mentioned below are somewhat off of actual. Park Lawn and Lake Shore don't meet each other at the cardinal points of the compass, but I'm using them as if Park Lawn were a north-south street here and Lake Shore were an east-west one, as that's how people generally think of them.

What other spots have been nnounced so far aside from the 2 banks, Metro and Shoppers?

I'm disappointed that they are widening Park Lawn and not the sidewalk.
 
No other retail has been announced yet. The sidewalk will be wider than it was as well as Park Lawn getting widened. It needed it, believe me.

I still don't see the "handle" roof element. VE'd out? The podium seems suburban to me but then all of Humber Bay Shores seems suburban to me (as does Liberty Village and MCC). Dense doesn't mean urban.
 
MCC is still a work in progress. Its blocks have a metropolitan form that will probably feel quite urban when built out.
 
I am told that the handle is still coming. A steel structure has to be assembled up there for it to installed onto.
