Quick update on this one. The project is above grave at certain areas of the site (in particular the North/East corner (looks like they are working on the 3rd storey) and South/West corner). It should get a little more interesting in the coming months.

In driving by yesterday, I noticed that they seemed to be assembling yet another crane.

I believe that this might be 9 or 10 now, but I could not count for fear of getting into an accident.

Maybe someone else could update (the new one was yellow).
 
The new yellow crane is number 8 on this site. Maybe they switched to different colours to identify the cranes because they were running out of letters of the alphabet...

You are correct; I was able to count them this morning and there are 8 in total.

The new one is situated much closer to Yonge Street at the north end of the site. The buildings are starting to look like substantial structures, particularly from a distance when you drive up the hill over the rail line heading south to Doncaster and Steeles Avenue.

This is going to change the look of the area dramatically on completion.
 
Ask and ye shall receive. Pictures of, what I was told on site by one of the constructions workers, is Canada's only site with 8 cranes.

Those are great shots Jaycola, the best I have seen to give an idea of the extent of this site.

It is like a woodlot of cranes as you approach.
 
The view from the top floor is going to be incredible, a restaurant would do pretty well here I'd think, attracting both 905ers and curious urban folk.
I'm pretty sure this is the highest point of Yonge Street, south of Major Mac. The completely highest point is way up past Jefferson Sideroad, right beside the little abandoned white house.
If you sit in the backwards facing seats in the original (and much better) Vivas, Toronto looks like a tiny magical kingdom from up there. I bet it'd be the same view from the top floor of here, except closer and bigger.
