According to one worker, demolition has gone smoothly, with one exception. A piece of steel crashed through the windshield of a southbound car on Jarvis. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Yeah that would be funny: 20 years from now when those slabs are redeveloped, the locals say "save the slab's facade!" You just never know what the kids of the day might find cool
I was wrong in my earlier post today. The building is all down as of early this evening.
Now we can look forward to remains being removed, excavation and by next spring X should start to rise barring any unforeseen circumstances (i.e. one of those damn underground rivers!)
Indeed. I snapped a short video of the fatal blow and ensuing destruction to the building from my fifth-storey window yesterday. Pardon the scene suddenly falling over on its side midway-through; it didn't occur to me that one can't simply rotate the computer monitor as easily as one can a camera.
