I'm pretty sure that's a wood deck, I think Ipe, which seems to take weather in its stride. I was told recently, however, that Ipe, from Brazil, which was being sustainably harvested for a while, is apparently being over-harvested now, so has fallen out of favour for any project looking for LEED points. Can anyone confirm that?

Took a visit today, I guess they closed off, or at least attempted to close off a part of the patio. The Basketball Hoop Statue was removed recently too, I miss that, was a landmark of sorts of the reno job from the 90's.

Yes, not sure about it's history, but now theres just exposed metal bars for what used to support it. The statue seems to be replaced by a new sign,

Ah, I see. One can say what one will about the "Atompunk flourishes", but GenerationLee's photo shows them being replaced by some pretty dull, non-descript signage.
