Trip to Vinena

It turn out I needed more days to see this city than plan.

Got a chance to ride in the cab of a going from my station to the yard where cars are rebuilt and have a video of the run, but no photos of it.

Wide range of various types of trams, but the high floors are being phased out due to age as well the need to go lowfloor.

They are building a new central station that is schedule to be in full operation by 2014 with a shopping mall, hotels and other buildings. A few of the new platforms were open in Dec 2012 and that will mean the end of the current stub terminal that there now. Once competed, only the west stub terminal will remain as is, since the others ones have become though track stations. All international service will opperate out of the new central station compare using the 4 stations now.

Trip to Budapest Hungary Aug 26 2012

The trip to Budapest Hungary was never plan until a few days before it. Since it was going to rain on Sunday in Vienna leaving me very little to do that day, I saw it was going to be sunny in Budapest that was just only a 2 hour train ride away, I took the trip.

After getting there, I thought I made a mistake doing this trip by the looks of the area around the train station.

After getting out of the area, things started to look up.

The short one day trip needs to be 2 to 3 days for me as I never got a chance to see most of the city.

Miss my train heading back to Vienna that stops at the station I was staying at and had to take the next train that required me backtrack to my station.

Never checked the exchange rate for money before leaving and wasn't sure what the cost would be when I bought things nor how much money I needed to take out to cover the cost when I got there.

Like most cities I had visited, they were rebuilding or fixing old buildings which is something you don't see at home.
