Bombardier will put Steven Hawking on the stand as its expert witness. He can probably explain it all.

Right, in their boosted, relativistic reference frame, they're doing just fine. It's our own fault for the Lorenz delay here in Toronto.

I guess that's what happens when you spin down a black hole called Bombardier. They must be experts in "frame dragging".

Therefore, to solve the problem with the delivery of streetcars from Bombardier, our mayor simply has to decreed that Toronto is going back to the Julian calendar, and doing 13 days all over again. Should be able to get one or two more streetcars from Bombardier that way. Don't even need a DeLorean to go back in time.

But 13 = bad luck so if we switch to the Julian calendar then the streetcars will be even more late. Maybe the CLRVs will completely crap out too.

So the flatcars to separate the CEMs are different from the ones for the Flexities?
They should be the same at 40-60 feet and no need for an 89'.

Will this car be the return car for 4401 that we will most likely not see until 2017 based on the missing 4402??

The 4 cars per months was to start this month and 4418 is not one of them. Down to 12 days to see 4 cars here as promises for this month.

Will be less than 30 days since 4418 show up when 4419 arrives, assuming it at Hillcrest then.

Looks like the TTC is confirming that they expect Bombardier to fail to meet the new 4 per month schedule. Brad Ross tweeted (in reply to a tweet from Steve Munro asking about the 4 scheduled April cars): "One went into service last week; another left Thunder Bay on the weekend. We await a revised schedule."

Brad is apparently counting both 4418 and 4419 in the 4 per month, which does not make sense as he is counting 4418's in-service date and 4419's shipped-from-Bombardier date, which are very different measures. Still, a moot discussion as there's no way they're getting 4420 and 4421 this month.

Since the TTC is awaiting a revised schedule, how many schedules has Bombardier committed to and failed to meet, now? I think it's been at least 6 or so, maybe closer to 10?

Hey, 2035's only 19 goddamn years away!

Well since it took Bombardier almost a week to get a completed 4419 onto a flatbed and ship it out (of course there was paperwork that needed to be signed and all that), there's no chance on the planet they'll meet a 4 cars per month delivery schedule. At the pace there going at it would be at most 3 cars per month and even that's being too generous, the more realistic number is 2 per month.

Hopefully we'll see 4420 leave TB before the end of the month. Definitely won't be in service this month.

Why bother having a schedule when you are going to change it that often and *still* consistently fails to meet the revision? It's a waste of time. See them in court.

The process of manufacturing excuses involves an international supply chain, and that can slow things down.

It's possible that a third transporter car is in the rotation. The original two are both reported as being in Thunder Bay.

I believe it is. If you look at photos of 156393 and 158091 there are some small differences between those and the new one - particularly in terms of label placement. I can't quite make out the number though.

They have a contract and it has stipulated dates for delivery. Whether they have an international supply chain or otherwise does not free them from their obligations - if BBD have problems with that supply chain, it is up to them to solve them in time.

And going forward, the performance of BBD should rightly factor into their suitability for future bids in Toronto.
