Since John Tory and his gang at City Hall voted against a stormwater fee, we can expect more storms that will damage the streetcars without the benefit of fixing the infrastructure to battle stormwater nor any remedy from the source (asphalt parking lots, asphalt driveways, roofs over single story buildings, etc.).
Tory likes to talk a good game, but as one current mayoral candidate once said, he likes to "dither" around a lot. I guarantee you if he is re-elected, we'll see him voting in support for the exact same stormwater fee one year from now which ultimately would just end up turning out being a big waste of time playing political hot potato.

As for the streetcars themselves, this shows exactly why we need those additional 60 vehicles ASAP.

I agree. We need the additional streetcars AND buses in case those vehicles get caught in extreme weather caused by climate changes. Especially if the politicians refuse to spend any money on needed infrastructure to combat floods.

Late to joining this thread. Are these numbered sequentially? Is 4495 the 95th streetcar? If not, where are we at in the 204?

4497 is on its way, 4496 is on the property somewhere.

The ALRV fleet seems to be down to one vehicle - 4249. 4221 was out last Thursday evening, but hasn't been out since. It is really the end of the season for these cars.

From the August CEO Report, downloadable from this link:

The target for Q3, 2018 is 15 new streetcars in service. As of August 22, 2018, 7 streetcars have been shipped to TTC and 9 have entered service. Of the 204 streetcars ordered, 96 have been shipped and 91 have entered service.

It's been just those two for the past week or so. Word is they are trying to get a few more back on the road. 4221 was hit by a car and slightly damaged, but it has been repaired.

4489 has enter service on 509 after 7 days after its last test doing a short 2 hr trip of all things. Took only 50 days to get in service.

4494 in the service bay

4495 has been out testing the last 16 hours and currently out in Long Branch.
