I prefer a viking style retirement. Set it on fire and send it down Queen Street.
Yeah, maybe not a fire, but they could send 4204, 4249 and 4230 ( the only three out the last three days ), in a parade down Queen.

4512, 4426 & 4449 out as 301. 4428, 4432 & 4433 out as 501. There was 8 cars out on 501 before midnight, with 2 out on 501L.
4518 is heading to St Clair for testing.
Looks like those US fares are ticket/tap rather than cash. Amazingly low really in the USA. Compare to the tube in London, which in rush hour varies from US$3.05 (same zone) to US$6.49 (zone 1 to 6 but staying in Greater London) using Oyster (US$6.23 to US$7.51 with cash). The TTC cash fare is $3.25 CAD ($2.43 USD). Presto fare is $3.00 CAD ($2.24 USD)

(if you go to the end of the network, just outside of Greater London, fares go up to US$12.98 using Oyster).
I wonder why the Americans subsidize transit so much compared to the UK or Canada - I'd have thought it's a very socialist policy!
While that's true, and great for tourists or shoppers, it doesn't effect anyone on days they just takes 2 trips in a day commuting to work.London has a daily cap.
Perhaps true in most US cities - but New York City also subsidized transit at a much higher rate than Toronto. I don't think that no one would use the subway in New York City if they charged Toronto or even London level fares. The Americans subsidize transit so much because otherwise literally no one will ride it (or they would just evade the fare): they're already struggling with ridership as it is.

New tracks and switches are being install for the rebuilt maintenance building at Davisville yard with work cars all over the place. Couldn't get the DSL camera out in time, otherwise would have got better shots than these ones.

We used the old fare entrance at Yonge St at Bloor for the first time since the new gates were installed.

It is sad to say the least, but a daylight shooting at Queen and Woodbine has resulted in the 501 turning back at Kingston Road since 2:30. Several streetcars are trapped there, however, the intersection should reopen by 8 PM.
